HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Nearly 85 percent of the people suffering from high blood pressure are obese. High blood pressure or hypertension is one of the most complications of obesity. At least 30 percent of individuals who are overweight by 13-15 kilos have slightly elevated blood pressure. The symptoms are usually fatigue, giddiness, anxiety, nervous, weakness, breathlessness and baldness.

Emotions, fear, heredity, food with more fats, work environment, more intake of food with more sodium are some of the causes for increase in blood pressure.

The life style and view of life have to be changed. The obese patient have to observe fast of shorter or longer duration. The gain in weight has to be reduced. He has to quit smoking and coffee. Intake of fresh foods helps in controlling high blood pressure.

Obese individuals with hypertension should first be treated with a new diet to reduce their weight to more normal levels. It is observed that a 10 percent loss of body weighted combine with s low salt diet can normalize blood pressure and eliminate the need for blood pressure medications.
